Our Mission

We work to build a shared community of Black educators who are invested in providing students with a curriculum that is both challenging and empowering. Through critical thinking and a social justice lens we will forever recognize, emphasize, and humanize Blackness.

Who We Are

We are a collective of Black Educators providing interim academic instruction in the midst of COVID19 school shutdowns.

Our goal is to exist beyond school shutdowns and become an accredited institution that focuses on building educational programs geared towards student growth and empowerment.

When Do We Say Enough?

Amidst COVID19, educational inequities have become even more visible.  It’s impossible to ignore now.  In response, we’ve gathered a collective of Black educators to create and virtually teach a culturally-responsive curriculum that aims to centralize Black stories, Black history, and Black identity.

We know that most families in our community are under survival mode; it’s hard to think about school right now. But we also know that we’re kept in a constant state of survival so that it’s nearly impossible to break away from the systems that bind us. That’s called slavery. And it’s by design. Our ancestors paved the way; we honor them by breaking the remaining chains.
